I've been experiencing numbness/tingling in two specific spots at varying degrees for many months, maybe even a year or so, and it's gotten particularly noticeable the last few weeks. The two spots are both on the left side: my upper neck (right where my spine enters my skull) and my upper back (in between my spine and shoulder blade). I do tend to hold tension in my neck/upper back, but I have no decrease in mobility or strength anywhere. The paresthesia symptoms have been very distracting, and they sometimes keep me from falling asleep (or falling back to sleep) for hours. Advil doesn't do much.
I'm 27. I'm probably going to go see a doctor and get x-rays, but I'm self-employed and my insurance isn't great, so I thought I'd ask around to see if anyone has suggestions for therapies I can do now to ease the discomfort.
Also I'd love just to know what's going on. I've been trying to research online, but the closest I've gotten is cervical rariculopathy c3-c4, which still doesn't sound quite right. If you have any thoughts, I would love to hear them. I understand that I need to go to a doctor for a real diagnosis.
