13 days post op 3 level acdf pain shoulder blade and left arm

If it were not for this ONE problem I would tell you I never had any surgery because the rest of me feels great! Two days ago I started have terrible pain that seems settled in my left shoulder blade and my left upper arm. I cannot tell if this is the dreaded muscle spasms happening or if it is a nerve problem. It is only on my left side (which my surgeon told me was the side where the most damage was on my spine). I had a C4-7 fusion with titanium plate, screws and donor bone. My doctor does not use a collar but I have been very strict with myself regarding movement. I take walks and go out with hubby on short shopping trips. It feels like I just need a good massage to "release" the problem area. I am going to call my surgeon if I still have this on Monday but wanted to know if others have had this (one sided), what it turned out to be for you and how you were treated for it.
