Hi I am having posterior cervical fusion with rods on October 23,2015 I had two anterior cervical fusions , one in 2010 & 2013 both failed to fuse. I think I am more nervous this time around because the other surgeries have failed.

  • Hi I haven't had any cervical surgery but had lumbar surgery and having an MRI on Thursday to check lumbar problems and investigate my c-spine area.

I will be thinking of you on the 23rd.

I had ACDF C4-5 and it didn't fuse. I ended up having posterior surgery and my neck did fuse.
This second surgery was much longer to recover from. They had to shave the hair on the back of my head. I had 11 staples. I had to wear a soft collar for about 2 months. No driving during that time.
I'm not going to lie, it was a very painful surgery compared to the first one.
Good luck with your surgery & keep us updated.
  • Thank you AJGormit & Motor1 for your support. Getting more nervous as the day approaches but I am hoping this surgery will help & get rid of some of the pain.
