Methadone or hydrocodone?

Hi everyone. I suffer chronic pain from lymes disease. I've been on 7.5mg of hydrocodone 4 times a day along with 15mcg butrans patches for almost a year.

Recently the pain has become so severe my PM doc wanted me to try 5mg methadone and stop everything else. He said it's more addicting and harder to come off. He said its stronger. I turned it down for now bc I'm scared for some reason.

Anyone have any advice/opinions? Should I go with the methadone? Is it stronger than the hydrocodone? Anyone have good pain relief from just methadone alone?

To keep all responses together I have posted the link to the member's other post which includes this duplicate question, I have closed this thread
