I've Had terible pain for about a month in my neck and shoulder blade with pain also down my arm and numbness in fingers. I got an MRI done and turns out I have a herniated disc at c7/T1 (extrusion) pushing on my spinal cord, also have another disc protrusion with mild spinal cord compression and bulges in other discs. I have a C8 nerve root compression, degenerative disc disease, bone spurs, kyphosis (curvature disorder) and not to forget narrowing of the spinal canal on a couple of discs. It started to feel like it was getting better last week but has since flared up. I am unable to do most things due to the pain and have been off work a lot. I am taking a lot of pain killers which certainly help take the edge off but I am so drowsy and tired all the time.
Just wondering from people's experience whether this is likely to resolve on it's own and how long before I can feel normal enough to resume work etc. or does it sound like I'll need some form of suregery. The pain is currently about a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
