Hi all, I wanted to see if anyone had any experiences with ALIF or PLIF. I had a micro dissectny this April that was fairly easy but it did nothing for my leg and butt pain. St all which is why I went in. A new doctor has since found out that I have severe disc degeneration at the L5 S1 level so he and a second opinion both recommended a fusion. One doctor wants to go in from the front the other from the back and I'm still undecided on which surgeon to use. Does anyone have any input on which is better?

Also, I live in New York and it is always highly recommended if you have a serious surgery to go into New York City as that is where supposedly the top doctors are. Well now I'm debating going to New Jersey because I went to New York City the first time and the doctor that was supposed to be so great was the one who performed the failed micro, do so much for top doctors.
