Hello everyone. I need a second opinion from someone who has experience as a physical therapist. I have had two lumbar fusions and one cervical fusion. Recent MRI's show continuing degredation to my disks. My current doctor figures another lumbar fusion in the next 3 to 5 years. I have cronic lower back pain, tingling down left leg and on bad days tingles on both legs, cannot stand straight. I have been taking narcs for so long I built up a tolerance.
I recently tried a wheelchair for two weeks, the decrease in pain was incredible. Now I went to a physical therapist and was told a wheelchair was the worse thing I could do for my back. He prescribed a walker as an alternative.
My question is this, if it hurts to walk and a wheelchair helps with the pain how is that bad? Could I use a wheelchair and what kind would be best?
Thank you for listening to my rambling and any help.
