Low body temp and chills 7 days postop multiple acdf 45 56 67

I have had chills for past couple days and today had my 1st postop..checkup, though was with my primary care physician. She asked if I have had any fever or chills and I said fever no, but definitely chills. When she took my temp it was 97.3.

My incision looks fine, no drainage, and I think I am doing quite well, considering it's 1 week out from acdf surgery.

Anyone have any insight or similar experience with very low body temp and what they were told it means, if anything?

I am also 50 yrs old and post menopausal. My recent blood tests from 1 week before the surgery showed no thyroid issues either.

I used to get chills if I forgot my hormone medication prior to surgery. I know since my surgery my hormones have definitely changed for the better. I no longer get migraines. This could be a hormone issue, not sure.

  • Thank you very much for the insight on this. I really appreciate it. Was kinda wondering if it could be hormonal too..
