Hi all

I have never posted on any forum before, so whilst I will do my best, please excuse any errors I make!

I am a 38 year old single mother who has cronic lower back pain and sciatica.
I am from australia. (Sorry if my terminology is slightly different!)

My back problems began in 2009 whilst undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer - although any doctor will or can not confirm that chemotherapy was the source.

There is no family history of any back/spine/neck problems.

My 'journey' began with my surgical oncologist (breast) who referred me directly to my neurosurgeon.

Doctors whom I currently see are my GP, and I have also had to go back to my neurosurgeon. I have an appointment in four weeks with an orthopaedic surgeon.

Iother then the above mentioned I have also seen physiotherapists, osteotherapists, myotherapists, pain management specialists.

Conservative treatments have included physio, osteo, myo, Bowen, reiki, massage, hydro, keiser.
I have also indured three nerve root injections that give me no relief.

Tests over the years- I can not think of any I haven't had.

I currently take 300mg of lyrica daily, 2x3 panadol osteo daily and I take morphine as needed (usually once a month or so, daily of late).

I have had three surgeries on my spine. Two discectomies and a lumbar fusion. These three surgeries were performed within the space of three years. (Side note, I have had a whopping total of 18 surgeries since 2009)

I have lowered sensation from my knee down in my right leg along with the feeling of pins and needles. I have weakness in my right leg. I have what I feel is severe sciatica in the right leg, minimal in the left. Lower back pain is a constant

At this moment I am frustrated with the constant and worsening pain (both lower back and sciatica).
As most who read this will understand, sitting down, standing up, lying down, all cause pain and it is a case of rotation.
I am now at a point that I will not leave the house in fear of falling, that's when I can stand up. (Right side searing leg pain when weight bearing).

I am a single mother so I can not afford to be drowsy from pain meds. Lyrica has not helped. I have taken a multitude of different pain relief, gabapentin included.

I guess I am just looking for ideas from people who are living with similar pain on how to manage.
I guess I want to share my experiences with those who understand.

That's my pain story in a nutshell.
Thanks for reading!
