Hamstring pain, need advice while I wait for doctor appoitment

Ok so here is my story. I tweaked my back while working out. For the next two weeks I took it easy working out everything 50% and felt fine. Now here is my question I went to get a deep tissue massage on my glutes and hamstrings. After I left the massage that night I was getting pain in my left leg but it went away that night. On Saturday I did nothing but had pain in my shoulder where she massaged and couldn't raise it above my head during that off day. On Sunday I did a light workout doing Olympic lifts. When I was lifting there was no popping, no pain, in fact it felt great. Later that day I went home, took a nap and felt fine. Went to my family's house to watch the game and after watching the game I stood up and couldn't move. My lower back wAs tight, and both my hamstrings. So I stretched and the next day my left lower back kept spasming ( doesn't now) but I had extreme tightness (to the point it hurts) in my right hamstring still. (No pain in right lower calf, glute or back.) just top of hamstring. And the only time it feels better is after I exercise (I AM BEING SAFE, NO OVERHEAD PRESSING OR ANYTHING THAT AGGERIVSTES IT) . And before you guys say see a doctor I am seeing a spine/ back specialist. They are very busy and he earliest I could get was niov12,. Any advice from experience? Feel like I'm going crazy and I'm only 24yrs old

  • I was in a similar situation; no back pain - accept some dullness. I would go to the gym and workout and then play raquetball with a friend. During raquetball I had some real tightness in my hamstrings. The tightness was too the point that I had to stop for a bit. Long story short - that was May with no improvement. In August I woke after a party at our house. I couldn't help clean up, carry things or basically bend over. The pain went from tight hamstrings to jolts down my legs (just to my knee).

Fast forward - went to Chiro in August, MRI in Sept that showed some severe stenosis in the L4/5 area that was compressiing the nerves and causing hthe jolts. Recommendation from Ortho was fuse L4/5, One Neuro was laminectomy (no fuse) to decompress, and the last Neuro was fuse L4/5.

I'm not mentally there yet with 2-4 days in hospital, 4-8 weeks off.

Get checked so you can know what your dealing with.
