Hi to all...
I hope everyone is feeling well. I never realized how many of us have the same ailment in common. I to, was very active, worked out in the gym, ran, weight lifted on a regular basis. I always believed that was the key to a healthy body. After reading through many postings I see many of you with the same neck problems also lived a pretty active lifestyle. I always thought, a body that is active stays in motion... now I'm beginning to think, it just wears out. I am going on 3 years since having surgery.
A lot has changed since... I had 2 levels fused. Cage, ground cadaver bone, plates and screws. I had NO collar what so ever during recovery. I was completely off of work for 2 months. Very little pain medication throughout. I still have bad days. If I have a especially hard or stressful day at work my neck will be tight and hurt for a couple of days sometimes causing headaches. I can not work out to the full extent that I did before the fusion. Most days are pretty good. I would like to check into getting the hardware removed sometime soon. Change in the weather really causes alot of pressure and pain. I am hoping that having the hardware removed will help with that. Until next time... have s good one.
