How soon of recovery after spine implant removed?

Dear all, my father having the same problem, suffering huge and sacractic pain on his leg, back pain.

1. He is having XLiF procedure on L4-L5 at 30/5/2015, discharged on 3/6/2015. condition is very good.
2. After 3 weeks time, back pain started, feeling no good. Checked up, found that bacteria infection on implant side. Admitted around 2 months time.
3. Discharged on 22/9/2015, MRI scanned L4L5 bone had little corrosed because of bacteria infection. Doctor advised to rest more but if feeling numbness and pain again, second operation is to take out the cage, cut a bone from your bottom dummy side, insert to replace the implant.

So now he is started suffering with the huge pain, serious cramp on leg, even now lying have to be in best position so it wont cause you the pain. Little Rotation also will causing cramp too...now his lef started loss strength, cannot walk. all rotation and movement is limited. As doctor advised, the cage is needed to take out already.

Will cage removal will eliminate those nightmare pain and back to normal walking person?

I would like to know if cage had been taken out, how soon is his recovery, i means his leg strength recovery, can walk, no more pain.

Please, share with me your story. I am really keen to know this. Thanks a lot !!
