It seems odd that your doctors have been working with you and don't understand your limitations, despite testing results.

My EMG was very revealing in my case.

Re Disability, I used a Disability attorney. No out of pocket cost to you, and I never even went to a hearing.
My lawyer reviewed all necessary paperwork I filled out.
He also guided me with the paperwork for doctors.

I had to make appointment specifically for the paperwork for doctors, but it was well worth it!

    I wish you very best!

First time I seen a blank post...can read subject, that's it.

I too am just filing for SSDI, from disc disease, lumbar myelopathy (had laminectomy L4-5 fusion last March).

I'm 57, and also just filing for disability retirement from my 16+ years of school custodial work...they won't let me return unless I'm 100% able to do the job.

Hopefully, someday I'll be able to do another job, but still having mobility issues from fusion, or sacrum area below....surgeon is reviewing X-rays for further needed tests, or different kind of therapy...was doing land and pool till they said I couldn't continue without new X-rays. Should hear something soon.

I'm doing okay with it all. I knew before fusion surgery some major lifestyle changes may need to be made...so not a big surprise, still a disappointment, but life goes on.
