Most importantly, how do I minimise tolerance to oxy? Currently I try to take it as infrequently as possible. But, for example, is every-other-day effective at preventing tolerance build up? What about once every 3 days? Or are 2 days on, 2 days off better? And so on.
I've been prescribed 10mg Oxycontin for undiagnosed chronic abdominal pain and it can be quite effective. Sometimes more so than others. Other questions that I'd appreciate help with:
- I've read differing accounts of when's best and what's best to eat w.r.t. oxy. Can anyone clarify?
- Any other "real life user" tips (other than "don't drink booze") ?
A touch of context: I've had chronic abdominal pain for ~ 20 years and have only recently turned to pain meds. I'm diagnosed IBS-C but I think there's more to it than that. My pain doc has tried Ketamine jabs, botox jabs, Fentanyl patches, marinol and more to no avail.
Many thanks in advance,
