So I had a microdisetomy on my L4/L5 disc on the 17th September this year (nearly at 10 weeks). I had some leg pain and neural tension between march and july which then developed (overnight) into severe pain all down my left leg, this then caused muscle weakness and numbness as expected.
Since my op I've been recovering brilliantly, no legs pains, occasional back aches especially during the first 4/5 weeks. I've been away from home at uni since week 2 post op so fending independently. Recently I've been getting a bit more active as I'm at 10 weeks and feeling fitter and getting stronger. The last 3 days I've had bad muscle aches in my upper and middle back that doesn't subside much with lying down. It's also got cold this week, I'm not sure if that contributes to muscle aches etc??
I never had any back issues until this disc injury but am now getting these constant aches in my upper back (symmetrically).
Is the increase in activity (bits of non contact football down the park) a likely cause to the aching that has suddenly presented? Maybe the weather? I've had a frustrating last 8 months and was hopeful I was over the hill.
Some reassurance or advice would be gratefully received.
Ryan (20 years old).
