Lumbar Fusion

I joined before my surgery wanting to learn as much as I could going into this. I'm a 47 year old male having no pre existing chronic pain (from Georgia if locations matter). After a slip and fall directly on my tailbone and hitting my head on the concrete floor, I awoke with an unusual burning pain between my buttocks and lower back. My employer even after watching the video said people fall all the time wait and see in a few weeks. Trying to avoid a Workers Comp case, I was told after three weeks to visit a weekend Dr. So I don't miss work. Having already seen my Family Dr., I visited a ortho clinic that recommended transport to the local Hospital immediately. Being told not to mention on job injury and having to pay $500.00 just to get the X-rays and visit, I had to deny the MRI not knowing where my boss stood. I did admit at that time to the Dr. It was on the job and they required I sign a form releasing them from liability having written in his report I could further damage and be in a wheelchair next time. Fast forwarding after two IME's from insurance and a 13 month wait time and never missing a day of work I had S1L5 decompression and fusion with rods, screws and a cage. Now having a household with two working parents I returned to work after 5 weeks. I work in a field that can be dangerous and lifting was frequent. I secured another job not requiring all that more clerical. I really enjoy what I do and have found sciatic pain is better but, numbness and deep lumbar pain as well as the deep burning in lower Si joint is still there. What other testing is recommended my surgeon thinks all is well and the Nerosurgeon insurance hired was the most in depth of anyone I have seen. His word is what finally got me surgery, as he stated I'm messed up! Sick of pain, sick of the no interest from Dr's and family not understanding. Is this the point where you loose everything and throw in the towel.
