:D Hey im new to this...im a teen and i've got scoliosis and i really just wanted to find people that i can relate to. I've had to wear a backbrace for going on 2 years now and everyone i know says they "get it" or "understand" when, in reality, they don't. They try to, i'm sure, but unless you've experienced it...there's no possible way you can know what it's like...as i'm sure you all know.

So if you can relate or anything feel free to comment :)

  • Welcome to spine-health....
  • and welcome. I too must wear a back brace and definitely can relate. Do you wear the type that laces tight on the sides, metal in the back and velcro in front? Goes from chest to hips? I wear a tight fitting tank type tshirt under mine and it helps to make it more comfortable.
  • :) hi and welcome to the forum! we are here to offer you support and answer what question we can. i had 2 ruptured discs when i was 15 so i know of the "loneliness" you are experiencing. people don't really understand unless they have pain as we do. their nice smiles and kind greetings don't really make you feel better, the pain is still there. it just doesn't seem fair. i hope you can find the forum to be a friend when you are in need. we are all in the same boat as you are. knock on the door anytime. take care of your self. Jenny :)
