hello spineys, today i visited my pain mngmnt. doctor i told him my pain seemed to be geting worse he recomended a CAUDAL ADHESIOLYSIS i cant even pronounce it LOL! my question is if anybody ever had this procedure done and did it help???thanx,<3

  • Did he explain to you what he wants to do? Basically, he wants to insert a catheter through your tailbone, and use the cathether and some fluids to attempt to break up the scar tissue.
It is not done commonly, in large part due the fact that it is not very successful in the long term. The scar tissue will reform and have more due to the inflammation caused by this process.

This link explains the procedure pretty well, but as I said, it does not seem to have a good prognosis long term and I do understand that it is relatively painful, but do discuss it further with your doctor if you decide to go through with it.
  • yes he did do some explaining but i told him i wanted some brochures and do some more studying on this procedure im just tired of them treating my back like if it was a bad motor!!!well i made up my mind im not geting it done thankyou for your response it was vry helpful... :)
