Lumbar disc replacment - Seeking others who are newly recovering

I posted in surgery buddies also, but since I am asking post surgery, wanted to post here too.
I had lumbar disc replacement surgery one month ago. Recovery has been a bit of a roller coaster. Initially I did very, very well! I could sit longer than pre surgery, stand comfortably, and generally felt so excited about how I was doing. After about 10 days, I started to really regress (brutal sciatica, leg weakness, numbness). This regression has been really tough mentally. Would like to hear recovery stories from others who have had lumbar disc replacement. Especially looking for encouraging news!! I am hopeful my regression is temporary.... Thanks all
