I have spinal stenosis in the lumbar area. I am going to a neurologist, going to see a neurosurgeon in the same office soon and have started with a new pain clinic in my area. I have back pain and a lot of leg pain, butt pain. The pain specialist wants to do an emg on my legs Wednesday. What kinds of things will he be able to find? I recently had a new MRI done and ex rays on my back while in flexion to see if the vertebrae are sliding over top of each other, pinching the cord further before they will OK physical therapy. The spinal stenosis is in the L 4 5 area, wit disc bulges and degenerative changes there, above and below also.Dr said left side was weaker than the right and I had less feeling on my left outer thigh and strangely my right outer calf. Does that make sense?
