Hi! I'm a 44 yo female who has had 3 cervical surgeries. The 1st one was 08/12 - fusion for c5 - c7. 1 year later I had to have surgery on c6/c7 again because it didn't fuse. Then again in 2014 since c6/c7 still hadn't fused, but also to fuse from c4 - t1. Plus also to remove/replace all my old hardware that was broken/ not connected to anything. As time has gone by I now have pain in the t5 area and my neck is still causing me a lot of pain. My surgeon has done the MRIs & CTs but they are not seeing anything wrong. He sent me to a pain management Doctor but it's not getting better or even leveling out. It just keeps getting worse every month.
I didn't mention that the original find had to be done with a disco gram. It took the 3rd Doctor to recommend the disco gram & that's how they found the root of my problems.
So here I am over 3 years later and I feel like I'm worse now than I was before my first surgery. And to top it off it doesn't sound like there is a next step. I've talked to my pain Mgt Doctor about burning nerves or injections and he doesn't believe it will help or do any type of positive outcome.
Please tell me IF there is something (ANYTHING) to from here

  • Have you gone to other docs for other opinions on your diagnostic tests?

With my lingering issues (and possibly losing my career), I am considering going to a large referral hospital that is known for it's neuro work ups, even though it's about 4 hours away. I know it may just be issues I'm stuck with (and yours are too), but I don't want to leave any stone left unturned.
