I'm 7 months out from spine surgery fusion L3, 4 & 5. I'm having nerve pain and jolts of sharp pain in legs, back and feet. My right foot has severe pain and I'm unable to walk many days. After surgery I had P.T. for 3 months and was told by my surgeon to walk one mile a day. I did that. Now I can barely move most days. I take Lyrica and have since surgery. I was prescribed Effexor also. I cannot get any narcotic pain medication and was cut off abruptly after surgery. I'm not a pain pill seeker nor do I want to be on pain meds forever. I'm unable to walk and do any exercises most of the time because of pain. My life has become miserable and I'm not sure what to do. My primary provider was very cold and told me right away "I'm not prescribing any narcotic meds to you".
I've never asked her for pain meds and do not know why she would say that. My surgeon won't help in any way. I'm thinking since surgery is over...his help is over also. I've seen two other primary care physicians not for pain meds, but for any help with my pain. All treat me like I'm a drug seeker. Any suggestions? Any advice?
