Gabapentin for nerve swelling????

I am fighting a swelling nerve sccording to doc . This what shows from my latest mri done on 12/30. All the symptoms are there still 4 weeks after surgery. Tingling burning and numbeness. No shooting pain thank God. Tried medrol pack but not much sucess. Now i was giving gabapentin as it supposed to help with this swelling. Is this true or this will only block the symptoms and be another bandaid?

  • It really works good I have been taking 400mg 5 times a day since before my surgery. When I don't take it I have a lot of issues with my nerves. I have been told that I probably won't ever come off of it , but as long as it works like it does I'm ok with that. I have a lot of permanent nerve damage.

  • I'm supposed to take 600mg three times a day but it makes me feel like a zombie... But I take it once a day and I can tell the difference between the pain when I don't take it. I took it for a few years prior to surgery as well and I'll probably always take it for the rest of my life.
