I'm not good at these things and I have learning disabilities so my writing skills suck sorry

I have chronic pain chronic fatigue fibromyalgia my back is tore up recently in 2014 I was

Diagnosed with chronic fatigue and chronic pain and fibromyalgia for life I have had over

100 jobs the list of damage from those jobs too long I was hit on the highway helping

A breakdown 3 recent accidents have done me in the last accident we got hit waiting for a car

To turn the car hit us over 40mph no brakes every since then I can't sleep in a bed we tried

A few and lost allot of money but all doctors ignore and refuses to treat it close to 30 mri

Cat x rays I have lost count yet since I was young every chiropractor has pointed at my lower

Back ( I started chiropractors young after a youth pastor pulled me off the top bunk dead center

On my head ) so I know the good ones from Quacks recently 2 good ones said my lower back is bad

And the horrible crawl on the floor pain from the bed isn't just irritation or flairs its doing damage

I'm so fed up with it all I am into fitness I reclaimed walking but I can't do crap for my back

I have been in therapy 10 times I try on my own but my back locks up severe pain and out

For a day No matter how slow I take it no matter what type of exercise I try I can't take not

Being in control and able to get some relief and build of the muscles and more tired of rude

Blow you off doctors who love saying scared to push himself no there's a difference between

Burn and sore from exercise to omg where is the morphine or like yesterday I tried 3

Exercise off one of my cards and passed out for a hour beats me it's hopeless I'm

Disabled on disability so medicare has limits and I have to make choices of bills

Food gas whatever I get by fine but can't ever see a specialist or one of those fancy clinics

Or hospital o well that's life may be it's just to make me stronger or punishment for the past

Abuse I may tell that some time let's just say years of lazy Worthless not trying excuses etc

Does damage to the mind and drives you to do severe damage to your body pushing to hard

Trying to prove them wrong

    You mentioned working with chiropractors.
Have you a primary doctor, also?

My primary tried working with my pain about two years before referring me to pain management doctor.
That was best thing for me!

You mentioned trying to prove them wrong.
For me it's doing best for myself. Good communication with doctor and repeating my symptoms until doc has another plan.
And my PM doc does have plans A, B, C.....you know, trying different things re how my body responds.

If your PT is causing such severe pain, either during or afterwards, maybe PM doctor can order PT to work in a different approach...??
He would understand more re the issues of your spine.

I do understand the frustration, but for me it interfered with me being the best caregiver for me.
Initially, I would try to minimize my pain..and push myself beyond my limits.

But listening to my body...I began to care for myself as I would a loved one.
..focusing on my care and not in competition with others.
That gave me mental relief and able to use that energy toward my pain managed to be tolerable level.

    Hang in there!

  • I have a primary care doctor he doesn't care about my back because the mri and others won't show any problems he is dead set

On focusing on my fibromyalgia only he will give me medication to relax my back and pain killers but otherwise ignores it!

I have a really good rheumatologist he diagnosed me in 2014 with chronic pain, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia from birth

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia when I was 18 but there wasn't enough known back then! So that's my problem I have

To many disorders fighting my every move to work on my back, I was into fitness when I was younger before all the problems

Flared up with age I even almost taught a class at the Y but things were starting to go down hill so I turned it down so I know

Plenty of ways to try plus boxes of hand outs from chiropractors and physical therapy on exercises! But I can't win I'm so mad

I damaged what's called the IT BAND in my thigh they said that it couldn't be fixed maybe a little better I have recovered 80

Percent use of it every time I was told no I said yes except now I'm so mad and at my end no one can find any thing I can't

Sleep in a bed now after that last accident it's sad when you say that a 8 on the pain scale is a great day a active day but that's

Part of why the rheumatologist diagnosed me as for life I have always had pain just never severe until my 20s lol that's also

When a drunk driver hit me while I was talking with a broken down cars driver threw me way in the ditch only thing that saved

Me is that it was his door clipped my butt and mirror caught my utility belt I was dumb back then plus really mad so I hopped

In the car tried to find him then just went to work ooooops that was dumb now I walk funny lol but thank God I can at least

Walk! But there you go there's still a book of damage done to my body growing up with chronic fatigue your labeled lazy

Not trying excuses every name in the book my parents are the only family that don't judge hate all that of me the rest I never

Hear from over 100 jobs those words drive you crazy and do crazy things a 500 pound over head water cooled spot wielder

Broke the Crain it was on it ripped my shoulder Out of socket I finished the rest of the 4 hours left on my shift! The mentality

At least for me of o I'm lazy Worthless I'll show you and you ask about the pain well believe me or don't it becomes worse than

Drugs alcohol any addiction you want more more means that I must be working hard! Till my mid 30s no longer working but can't

Shut down the over drive and stuff starting happening I was paralyzed for a week then severe hives and throat swelling had to be on

Eppi pens they finally said if you don't stop your body may shut down that's interesting to hear not! But 12 years ago I met my angel

My current wife she was with me a couple weeks and said enough your going to take Pain medication and your going to slow down

It never goes away but it's managed and now I'm 42 and it's all asking for payment and I'm loosing my very high tolerance but I will

Fight and try until I die one thing that the past gave me im to stubborn to quit

Sorry for such a long post I left allot out to keep it as short as possible any questions or don't understand just ask

Sorry for my crappie typing skills

    Take care

So your rheumatologist has been very helpful.

Would he be able to refer you to pain management?
Someone more familiar with the limits of medication and takes the time for all the necessary follow ups, as it's his specialty.

I bring it up again as you mentioned your tolerance to the medication.
And also you mentioning daily life at pain level of 8.
That seems a high level to be maintained at.

Since PM is specialist, mine doesn't just give me meds and wait for me to worsen, as seemed to be situation I had with my primary not really knowing how to help me.
I started on fentnyal patch and every year, year and a half, I alternate to OxyContin.
That is to hope I do not become resistant to either as I may have couple decades of needing to deal with this pain.

My PM has also mentioned other options possible at future date.
It's good to hear him mention plans B, C, .....so he is proactive..not just reacting to putting out the fires, which are my symptoms.

I keep all of my doctors in the loop as to med changes and my general well being.

  • Thanks so very much for your help and advice, yes I have been to pain management in the past, and in the state I'm

Finding better help in. But her response was im afraid to push myself I'm like huh lol and like all of the other pain

Management specialist physical therapy! I have been in 20 or more PTs, one problem with pt they all want to push

To hard with fibromyalgia it has to be slower than they want, and it's slower than medicare will pay for! !

I would love to travel to one of the state's with the specialized clinics like mayo or some of the other high review ones

I may have just had bad pain management people I would rather have answers or fixes then more drugs any day!

  • I'm not good with words or coming across right and I can never get what I am thinking or want to come out right

But we won't go into that. The only reason I came here is for support and try to find answers.

What needs to be made clear is everything that can be done on disability with medicare and being poor,

Has been done that's why I'm here not to whining to brag none of that. Since my 20s I have been in and out of

PT my 30s when things got bad I started pain management 3 so far 40 MRI cat x rays probably allot more

My own exercises from martial arts from being a fitness instructor from thousands of hand outs that have

Exercise on them from chiropractors and physical therapy ! ! And I'm still at a loss, loss of what's happening

And wrong, and a loss of why I can't get any better no matter what type of exercise I try to do I get worse

More often than building up I take myself out for days with very easy simple slow exercises I cut back to

The point of being worthless 3 or so things 5 count same ok let's push it it's just the normal fight back

Of a work out wrong worse each time until I'm out for days or pass out I can't stand something I can't make stronger I know

It will never be perfect but I can't do crap I can't stand no answers I can't stand not sleeping in my bed

That is why I'm here no your not doctors but maybe have heard of similar or whatever I'm at my

End doctors don't understand nagging the crap out of me and also denying that I even have back

Problems because my scans are all blank no answers normal I have had enough and all that I see

Left is the fancy expensive far away places I can't afford and I can't Get to because I cant stay in

Motels I can't sleep in beds and I can't drive more than 50 miles or so from home so I don't know

Most of the suggestions above have been tried unless pain management is different in other areas
