I would like some help diagnosing myself before going to the Chiro's tomorrow and to see if anyone's had a similar experience as me.
I've had a niggling achey, dull pain behind the back of my knee for a while (6-8 months) and thought nothing of it, as far as I can see it's not a cyst as it's not swollen and the knee itself doesn't hurt. I'd rule out a tear as well since there is no direct pain. I don't notice it when running or being active but only notice it after prolonged sitting and hyperextending my knee to "feel" it.
However lately (2-4 weeks) I've started getting numb in my left foot and calf area, which seems to be subsiding slowly. This is intermittent as some periods I'll feel nothing and all is normal or I just don't notice it. I'll get the occasional pins / needles as well but when I stand up they disappear and the dull ache behind my knee is felt. I also used to get shooting electrical pains in my left calf when walking up the stairs at night (3 episodes that this happened) but these don't happen anymore.
It feels like all it needs is a stretch but the problem persists. Like I said I'm able to be physical (running only with sauna / steam rooms)
I was wondering if anyone had these symptoms?
I'm supposing a herniated disc or pinched nerve. Sciatica behind the knee as well maybe? Note I am able to lift both legs up while lying flat with no pain.
