9 months after acdf and I have to get a screw removed

I had a cat scan on Friday and it showed a screw sticking out. My neurosurgeon said he wants to take it out next week because it's close to my esophagus. He said recovery time is not bad, maybe a week or two out of work. No neck brace, thank goodness. I'm nervous because it's surgery again. I thought this would be a set back for me. I'm really upset that I have to go threw this again. Any of you had to have any hardware removed? How was the recovery time for you?
