Got a Big surprise at my 4th. month post surgery exam

Had Lumbar Spine Fusion & decompression L-2 thru L-5 done 9/21/2015. Surgery went well at a well know NY Orthopedic hospital with a well known surgeon. I was very pleased and found it to be a very good surgical experience. After C-mas I had a terrible stiff neck that took days to get rid of...since then I have had pins and needles & numbness in my right shoulder, arm, hand and fingers , it comes and goes but happens quite often...one finger stays numb. Happens on left side as well, but not as much.
My Internist suggested an MRI of my upper back before my New York Doctors visit so the specialist could take a look.
Yesterday was my appointment & he said my upper back has problems & was very surprised I have not had issues before this,
He now wants a CT scan...visit to Neuro and then back to him. I asked about PT...shots etc. and he seems to think nothing will correct it except surgery because my problem is "structural" with bulging discs, stenosis & endplate edema . He wants the CT to confirm a few things, but feels PT would hurt it & anything else would not help.
The good news is that my lumbar surgery is healing well & I am ready for PT on that part of my spine. A friend asked, could it be from the first surgery but after checking that out, it seems that can happen but after several years not right away.
Today I am so confused....to have to go through all that again?...don't know if I can, I hear that Cervical is worse than Lumbar.
Looking for someone who has had similar experience and/or some feedback.

I thought it said something about having a baby. Waaaaay too many pain meds today!

I've had 2 lumbar surgeries, my last was in 2008. Now I'm looking around for a surgeon for my neck. I have the MRIs and the advice that surgery is the option. I've tried PT and injections and meds but none of them were helpful. Well, meds help but I'm losing function in my left arm. (Just noticed my right hand is taking over most of the computer typing- amazing things our bodies do!)

Anyway, I've been sweating the neck stuff too but one of the moderators here has told me that having been through both himself, the cervical is easier than the lumber stuff. I'm hoping so because all my support and information is coming from the other forum users! I live in Philly and have been given names of surgeons to check out and names of surgeons to stay away from. `

I'll keep you updated if you do the same for me!
