Cramping and Leg Weakness

I am 4 days out from L5 S1 fusion. My back feels great and overall I am doing well - very little pain. What I have notice is some cramping in my buttocks and weakness in my left leg. I have to use the walker to ensure when I first stand I don't crumbling to the ground. I assume this is standard muscle adjustment and certainly doesn't feel like nerve pain. Anyone else experience anything like this? Thanks in advance.

  • One thing I noticed was my limbs suddenly jumping into the air. It only lasted a couple of days and nights but was really weird. It was so forceful it woke me up as I lay in bed. I literally leapt into the air. I am pleased to hear you have little pain I was the same. I also had/have the leg weakness. I slept, slept and slept first week. After that I was able to potter around make a snack for myself. I told my husband to go back to work as it was wasting his leave. I know I was one of the lucky ones a lot of people suffer and continue to suffer after a fusion.
  • My leg feel better today. I think whatever I was going through yesterday was some form of cramping. I walked over 1/2 Mile so maybe it was just exhausted. Today is a new day and while the same muscle category is sore and tense it isn't flaring up.
