Hi everyone! First time posting! I have 4 kids, the first three I had epidurals during birth. The first two were fine, just a poke, and then sweet relief, baby #3 was 5 yrs ago, and that epidural was so bad, I opted out on baby#4, this is why.. The anesthesiologist couldn't "get in" to my spine. He kept poking, and shoving, and wiggling around in there. He took the needle in and out over and over for 45 minutes. There was so much blood, and it was causing so much pain, my husband had to leave the room. He almost made the guy leave the room, but being a new dad, he didn't know what to do. Since then, for 5 1/2 yrs now, I have had severe pain in my spine, hips and legs, numbness, tingling. I DO have herniated discs in my lumbar spine, (old) and a cyst on my S3 area (which is new) . At the time, the anesthesiologist told me he couldn't get in because I must have scoliosis. I don't. The pain is unbearable, it is stinging, and burning. My legs are weak and numb, my toes become tingly and numb after standing for 10 minutes. My hips and thighs are hot to touch, and sometimes swell. I also have bowel and bladder issues. Bladder, it is hard to void, painful, and constant need to urinate, and bowel, I have had loss of control, and either constipated or diarrhea. I have a very strict diet to try and control that. I can't work, and because of that, I have the worst state insurance ever, so am having troubles finding a doctor to care, and take the time to figure this out. Has anyone else had an issue similar to this? What are my options? How do I find out if this doctor has been sued before for similar issues?
