Hi everyone I'm new here. Wanted to post, what I'm going through. I've been back, and forth with doctors for about 4 years, about my neck and back. I finally found a doctor who ordered a mri for my lower back. I also had a ct scan in my neck in 2013 only because of a car accident not because they listened when I keep telling them my neck is hurting everyday. Here is the results of my Mri. T12-L1 minimal degenerative disc changes. L1-L2 L2-L3 mild disc height loss. L3L4 mild disc height loss, and facet hyper trophy. L4-L5 moderate disc height loss. Type 1 degenerative end plate changes anteriorly. Small central focal protrusion with associated annular tear. Mild facet degenerative changes. L5-S1 mild disc height loss. Degenerative end plate changes. Small paracentral protrusion with small annular tear Mild facet degenerative changes. My neck ct. Cervical lordosis is associated with mild reversal of curvature centered at C5-C6. C5-c6 mild central posterior disc osteophyte complex with central canal stenosis. C6-C7 mild broad base posterior disc osteophyte complex. There is mild asymmetric joint space narrowing subchondral sclerosis and small osteophyte formation of the uncovertebral joints c56-67. I get a lot of pain in my arms, hand legs. The right side of my neck is always numb going into my face. I still have not had a doctor give me any pain relief. I just got the Mri I have a appointment with the Doctor this week. I don't know what to do anymore. I have not worked since July I'm in so much pain everyday. What is the prognosis of this. I've tried pt it's just too painful. The doctors all day I have chronic pain they wouldn't take the ct in account for what contributing for a lot of the pain in my neck and arms. I feel lost. I'm hoping this new doctor helps.

  • Hi Everyone: I am new to this forum. This will be the 10th year I've been dealing with lower back pain. The doctor says I have arthritis at L4-5. It doesn't appear that the disc is bulging to a great degree, but this pain is coming from somewhere. Over the years, I would get a few epidurals a year and have also had two radio frequencies on my right and left side. The last RF was 2012. Now I've noticed that the epidurals don't provide sustaining relief. In July I had a month of relief before the pain returned. The pain fizzled in and out for about two months before the injection finally seemed to benefit me. In January this year. I had my most recent epidural and imagine my dismay to discover I was only pain free for a week. My back is hurting all of the time now. I have a follow up in about three weeks and I fear I'll be in the same condition. My concern is that I may be written off. I feel my pain management doctor is capable, but I'm wondering If anyone is experiencing problems where epidurals are no longer effective. I'm wondering if another RF is needed. My situation is not operable.
