I am a PhD(Mathematics) student and from i.5 year I am getting pressure come pain in the right skull of my brain.
In the initial year of my right skull pressure I have gone through MRI of Brain and Cervical spine. I have also gone through Fundoscopy of Eye. That time, I have met doctor he has told nothing is serious, just don't take tension. Symptom has not gone then after 1.5 year of my tests I went to another neurologist.
MRI test of brain was normal and eye test was also normal.
MRI result of cervical spine as shown below.
"loss of cervical lordosis, anterior osteophytes in the verebral bodies at places, posterior osteophytes are noted in the peridiscal margins at C6-C7 level, right paracentral disc herniation is noted at C6-C7 level with thecal compression and right emerging nerve root impingment, normal signal intensity"

He has told you have straight neck problem they have prescribed neck exercises. I am doing those exercises. When i sleep in night I sleep with small diameter water bottle on beneath of my neck. I can't sleep on right side and chest up positions. I get sleep in left side position. When I leave bed in morning then totally I do not get any pressure or pain in my right skull as day passes it increases. Just now i have purchased cervical pillow. Which i will use from now on wards.

Due to these things, I can't concentrate on my work. Please help in this regards.

  • I have been dealing with this for years. I hardly get any sleep because of the pain in my head and neck. It effects everything I do. I have tried so many different things. I want to say the one thing that has helped me the most was a clay heating pad (it comes with a sleeve) that I warm up before bed and then I put it under my neck while laying on my back. The heat from the heating pad helped relax me enough to fall asleep. The problem was that the heat didn't last long enough and if I woke up I had a hard time falling back asleep without it warmed up. I also used a My Pillow. I have that and a bamboo memory foam pillow. The bamboo pillow is too thick and too hard. Basically, you are going to have to keep trying to find things that work for you. I am on a boat load of medications as well to help with the pain. I wish they worked enough to help take this all away. I don't know if you tried dry needling. I saw a physical therapist that tried it. It didn't work for me personally but it does work for some.

  • Now a days, I am getting sensation in hand and feet. Whatever I find, in my case, it is increasing more. I am trying to maintain good posture specially head. I am avoiding some works like heavy work, long time sitting in front of computer etc. I have also taken cervical pillow for sleep. Some times pressure cum pain increases some times it less.
I am worried because may it create big problems in future?
Is it disease like piles? Which is lifetime disease. In order to get rid of piles, you have to maintain good lifestyle and diet pattern.
    How to avoid these things?
Here i went to neurologist. Should i go to some big neurologist such that i get relieved?
Suggest some thing in these regards.
  • I honestly can say I'd rather have the headache than piles. lol. I am not sure if this is something that will eventually go away. I think it would once they find the cause and fix the issue if it is something that can be fixed. Unfortunately , my problem isn't easily fixed so I don't know it can go away. I think the key is to find the cause and treat that before you can treat the headache to make it go away,
