The Spine-Health Site - Lot more than the Message Boards

Many members on these message boards just tap on a portion of what the total Spine-Health site has to offer. Here is a quick reference to the many detailed sections offered at

Back pain, neck pain and sciatica (leg pain) are often symptoms of a damaged or injured spine. Injuries can result from physical trauma or strain (lifting a heavy object wrong, a car accident, sports injury, etc.) or can be a sign of a medical condition like degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, etc.

The categories below contain physician authored articles, videos and other information to help you understand a wide variety of spine conditions so you can be a more informed patient.

Treatments for back pain vary widely. The non-surgical options range from over-the-counter pain relievers to physical therapy to epidural steroid injections directly into the spine. Surgical treatments can be as minimally invasive as microdisectomy or more extensive surgery, like anterior/posterior lumbar fusion. The common denominator in all treatment equations is the patient.

One of the keys to living with a spine or back pain condition is staying healthy. Overall wellness is a combination of a balanced diet, appropriate exercise and physical activity, restful sleep and positive lifestyle choices.

One of Spine-health's greatest assets is our community -- a vibrant, active and supportive forum where you can talk about your condition, your struggles, and your triumphs with people who understand life with back and neck pain. Our member physicians regularly write articles to respond to real health concerns submitted by our readers, and our blog posts keep the community up-to-date on not only spine related medical issues, but also emerging technologies, medications and wellness trends.
