HI All,
I usually write in the cervical portion but, i have a slight herniated disc L5/S1 I believe my Neurosurgeon told me. It wasn't all that bad acccording to him. Yesterday I was lifting an air conditioner and upon putting it down, soomething "popped" in the lower back and now it's KILLING me. I went to a walk in clinic and they said x-rays won't do, I need an MRI. He gave me oxy and a muscle relaxer. Could I have actually ruptured this disc? Comments please. It hurts very badly and I can hardly walk.

  • for your pain.Unfortunately,yeah.Your disc may have herniated.
AC is a pretty heavy object.Only an MRI will show if it's herniated. In the mean time, try to ice it.It will help the inflammation.Rest for a couple of days.It could be a muscle strain, too. Those could be very painful.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes.Welcome!

P.S.BTW,is there pain down your leg?
  • reply and great advice so the only thing that I will add is a welcome. Please do keep us posted and if there is anything at all that I can help you with then please just let me know.....take care....Miki
  • and I hope that it is just a muscle sprain. Good luck and please keep us posted.
  • Thanks for the replies.Yes,it does radiate down my leg.

  • Actually the first time i prolased my disc I had get this broncitis and coughed it! LOL Only thing I could figure. The second disc blew moving around a 40 pound box from one side of the table to the other (not even bearing weight) The last time was the worst pain ever....fell to the ground when it happened and all I was doing was gettn' up from a sittn position on the floor. Good luck maybe crossing fingers it just got a great shake and is inflamed?
