hi all, had my 6 week check up today, doc did NOT xray me, that is going to be in another 3 months??? why the wait? i do not know.
H e is pleased with the healing and says i can drive again if i feel able to, thank goodness!! i can start to do some B L T although nothing strenouous, and i should be able to go back to work in another 4 weeks, the left leg pain has all but gone, still get occasional twinge but that is just settling, however my lower back is another issue, it was doing good at first but now it is constantly aching, not enough to take pills but enough so i know it is there, incision is still quite sore, and all through my lower back and butt is sore, doc says there is nothing he can do for the back pain, it hopefully will settle to a dull pain, but i am gonna have to live with it for the rest of my life, the main reason for the fusion was the leg pain and spasms, and it was only 50/50 that it would do anything for my back pain, which it does not seem to have done,!! :( but i am a strong person, and i will overcome this, i mean let's face it, i am 34 with 3 wonderfull kids and a great hubby, so i do not ahve it so bad, i can do this!!!
I think if i tell myself that often enough it Will come true!! Enough of me going on now, hope you are all as well as can be expected x x claire x x

  • Hello,

I am 8 weeks post-ops. Had TLIF in L4, L5, L5 & Sl. Once you begin your exercise regiment you are going to feel much better. Right now I am feeling normal,I am back in the gym taking it easy though. I have little spasms from time to time, specially when I sneezed.

You are going to get better.
  • is not alot of time and I fel sure that your pain will lessen as you continue to heal. Sometimes docs do not even realize these things. I had my doc tell me a couple of months after surgery that was as good as I was going to get and he was wrong. Good luck and keep us posted.
  • That is wonderful that the leg pain is gone and I am sure once you start a regime of core stability exercises that the lower back pain will lessen as well. Especially if it is that aching from sore muscles.
The more you strengthen your core muscles the better that will get.
Have you started PT yet or even aqua therapy?

    Blessings Sara

  • It is a great news. The back pain is probably just your muscles "waking up".As Sara said,PT should help. The most important thing is your attitude. It sure sounds like you have the best one.Good luck!
