I have 2 questions before I go for my surgical consult tomorrow morning (Thurs.). My physiatrist said he thought I would need a foraminotomy. Ihave no clue what the surgeon will say, though. When does one get a laminectomy vs. getting a foraminotomy? I know they are both for stenosis. I have bulging disks at 3 levels and also stenosis those 3 levels. Two of those levels have neuro-foraminal stenosis and central canal stenosis and one level has only the neuro-foraminal. Not to mention arthropathy at all 3 levels. How will they know what to do surgery on EXACTLY???
My MRI was done in May. I am much worse since May. Shold they do another MRI before surgery???????
Thanks ahead for any quick answers. I realize its last minute.
