  • My doc only will give 3....all lumbar ESI's. He says he has other tricks if they don't work but they're basically just buying me time.

My Pain Mgt doctor believes in only 3 in a 6 month period of time.

I have had almost 10 ESI's over the years and I can say from my experience they did not get any weaker. Not all of the ESI's provided me with some relief. Some times it was better than the other times and there were times when I had zero relief.

There are so many variables that go into how/why ESI's work for some but not for others.

  • My PM doc won't do any more until after November, which make it one year since the date of my first injection. They said the max they will do in 1 year is 4. Hopefully this last one did the trick and I wont have to worry about another!
  • I work as a nurse at Pain medicine associates. We will only usually give 3-4 a year. Usually repeat each of them every 3 months in a patient if they get good results. I have already had 3 and thats since febuary.
