Gallstones and backaches

Has anyone had gallstones? I have pain in my thoracic area due to neck bulges. But lately I've been wondering if maybe I might have gallstones and that is what is causing some of my thoracic pain. I am thinking this because all of my upper body pain I contribute to my neck bulges. About a month ago I had a really bad sinus infection. I thought the whole time that my pain was coming from my neck spasms until my eyes really started hurting. It turned out to be a frontal sinus infection.

Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced gallstones. And if it is kind of the same pain in the right thoracic area.

  • I didn't know I had them until the pain woke me up one morning at 5:00.Had an emergency surgery. The pain is evil, and is concentrated mostly in the stomach/liver area.At the time I lived with a friend,an MD.He fainted when he saw me,that's how bad the pain was.I hope it's not your gallbladder. You don't need that on the top of other issues.Don't remember pain in my back.
    Hope you feel better.

Thanks for the reply. I'll just have to make yet another appt. with my GP. I am hoping in is something else other than my neck issues so maybe some pain and discomfort can be taken away.

  • I had my gall bladder removed. I had the most intense sharp pain under my ribs on the right side, and yes it went to my back. About the bottom rib level. Wasn't real close to my spine though, more halfway between spine and side.

The good news is that if you have gall stones, the surgery is usually just a same day procedure. Unless of course you are me and get a bile leak, but we won't go there.
Surviving chronic pain one day at a time, praying for a reprieve because living another 40 years like this doesn't sound too fun!
