Posted in May of this year so not SO new...
Good forum!
Ongoing left back pain with radicular synptoms since Nov '07.
P.T. and 2 epidurals did not help.
Rec to have surgery by Ortho Spine surgeon-" L5 foraminotomies and facetectomy"
I have a transitional vertebrae on S1 "Bertolotti's syndrome"
Workmans comp has denied the surgery pending an "independent medical evaluation"What a joke. The doc I saw is basically paid off by the 3rd party insurance co. doing WC.He was a robot with no bedside manner.
Although my pain is not incapacitating it is always there and wearing me down. Now having more foot pain, tingling etc.
Have reduced a lot of activities I enjoy and although I am 55 I don't want to stay this way.
This is my first exposure to the frustrations and aggravations dealing with the medical insurance industry as a patient.
I have been thoroughly unimpressed.
BYW I'm an MD...
