Exercise ball/ swiss ball

Does anyone know a good source (website/ book) of core muscles strengthening exercises on the exercise ball for people who cannot do much in terms of bending/ twisting the spine. Looking for gentle yet effective core muscle work.
Couple of exercises on this website work for me. Some seem too hard.
(Lower back injury, disc bulging and degeneration, sciatica, right leg weakness, injury two years back-never recovered fully, cannot bend, cannot run, do vigorous exercise)

There are so many sites that provide this information

Just use "exercise ball workouts" as a search in your browser and you will get pages of references.

Also use your Physical Therapist, they can provide you with a set of exercises that is more 'tailored' to your condition.

I've had one of these balls for many years now and there are few exercises that some booklets outline that do create some discomfort for me....

So, its always best to ensure that what you are planning to do is approved

Hi Thanks for your replies.

Hi Thanks for your replies. I was wondering if some pain is normal when you begin a new workout. I have started doing some simple exercise ball exercises from this website. I did feel the pain going into my right hip as it usually does when I stress out. I took a break of about 5 days, I feel ready to start again. Does this happen to everyone? Is it that the muscles that are lying dormant are exercised and hence cause initial pain.

Using muscles/parts that were inactive due to surgery or

flareups can create discomfort when you begin to use them again.
But there is always a possibility that you are doing something wrong or too much. I would contact your doctor tell them what exercises you are doing, for how long, etc and see what they have to say
