Hi Dodgegirl

Just my opinion and that not being a medical one. I think you should wait to see your Dr. before working out. I hope you're seeing your Dr soon. Take care. Charry

Exercise

Hi

Hope you are feeling okay. I spent this summer at my hospital's spine clinic for physical therapy (affectionately known as "spinal boot camp"). I went twice a week. We did 30 min. of stretches then 1 1/2 hours of cardio and weight training. They said the exercise might be painful but it will not harm your back. They encouraged me to join a gym which I did and I go 5-6 times a week. I do the recumb bike, the treadmill and weight machines. Sometimes I can do the treadmill for 30-40 min. and sometimes the pain won't let me go longer than 10 min. I tried the elliptical but was unable to do it. I may try again soon. I have severe stenosis, sponylolisthesis and some other things at several levels of my back (L4-L5 is worst). It is my experience that exercise is a really good thing to do. Make sure that you check with your health care people and good luck.
