I'm new in this Forum

Hi everyone: I am not new to these boards. I am new to this particular subject here. I am going to see a Rheumatologist on October 13th. She is going to diagnose me and see if I have Fibromyalgia. I've been wondering for several years.

I've read a number of books on the subject. I have the trigger points. I have the daily foggy times. I have the disabling pain all over my body. Often I feel like I have the flu and I do not have fever. Very odd disease to me.

This Rheumatologist does the diagnosis. If it is positive she sends her patients to a specific treatment clinic dealing with Fibro patients.

I've been on these Forums for several years. I've been mainly in the Cervical spine forums. I had Cervical Spine surgery in April. I had a 4 level Laminectomy. I've had severe pain in my left arm for almost 3 years. Now its in my right arm, also in my neck. My neurosurgeon and back doctors determined I have a narrower than normal spinal canal. I also have degenerative disc disease, bulging discs.

I now have degenerative disc disease in my Lumbar Spine. I'm in process of applying for Social Security Disability. I am 57 years old. I have a wonderful wife of 35 years. She is very supportive. My 32 year old daughter Melanie has Multiple Sclerosis. She had our two grandsons: James (6 yrs old) and Shane (3 yrs old in Nov). They all live with us. Our son Charlie is 29 yrs old.

Full house. He lives with us also, works and helps us all.

Anyway, I am now in this Forum and want to learn all I can about Fibro.
