Left arm pain after fusion of c5-c6

hello everyone i have had a discectomy and fusion on c5-c6 on march 29th 2011. Following the surgery my neck is feeling good. I havnt had any numbness, tingling, or pins and needles in my arms and hands since, which is great since this was a big problem in both arms and hands. I do have one MAJOR PROBLEM though after surgery my surgeon told me my left arm may be sore for awhile since there was so much pressure in there everytime he touched a certain nerve my left arm went crazy. (jumping and flailing)My arm felt good when i woke up, but about 5 days later it started feeling sore and i had noticed a huge bruise had developed on my bicept. After a few days the soreness started getting better daily and i thought i was on my way to a full recovery. On night of april 15th aside from alittle leftover soreness on the top of my forearm everything felt great, when out of nowhere my arm muscles started constricting like crazy, pain was incredible. It started from the top of my forearm where it was still alittle sore went up to the top fleshy part of elbow to the tricept, all constricting till no end. The rest of my arm muscles hurt to the touch but werent constricting like the others. The constricting lasted almost two days and slowly began to get better until I dont have any more pain in my tricept but still have tightness and pain on the top of the forearm and elbow.I still cant straighten my arm and am in a sling. Surgeon says neck looks great thinks its coming from shoulder or arm, he thinks i may have slept wrong not sure why arm is doing this and put me on Lyrica 50mg 3x a day and a round of steroids yesterday. He says the bruise on my bicept is probably from the blood pressure thing, but cant see that happening it normaly takes alot for me to bruise. Im thinking they straped the arm down and with my arm jumping and what not my have caused some problems in my arm and shoulder. Has anyone had this or have an idea of what may be goin on, im really starting to get worried my arms may be like this forever. Thanx for any help.

Upper arm pain 10 days after ACDF C5/C6 surgery

Hi
I just wondered how your arm pain is now? I had the same operation about 10 days ago and was recovering well when a couple of days ago `i experienced burning pain in my upper arm which has not got better. If I try to use my arm or lift it above shoulder level i get a burning ripping pain in my upper arm muscles. I'm wondering if this is just my nerves settling down or if I should be worried about this. My neck and shoulder pain is much improved but this arm pain is severe when I try to use my arm. I had discectomy C5 and C6 and titanium cage put in.
