Can we get some controls over these Signatures?
People are allowed to make them entirely too lengthy.

I read a post from someone who has a 3 line answer trailed by their 50 line sig of every last thing they have done in 20 years or so... Sorry I don't really want to read your life history in every response you put on the forum. Once was enough. This is just a giant waste of internet bandwidth and space. Especially reading this on Netbooks or iPhone type devices. There is a smarter way to do this people.

With vBulletin and others systems you can disable Signature View so you don't have to see this noise in very post. Once again another thing Drupal can't do. So we need to use common sense instead.

Want to see an example of a smart user with good common sense. Go look for a post done by one of our Mods, Bruce. He has a short 2 liner on his basic issues. He has a link to the page where he introduced himself that has his life history in case you want to read it. There is also a link to I believe a Blog. So in 2-4 lines in your signature you can point people to your whole life from birth if you want. We just don't need to read it every time you post.

I believe Ron made some posts a while back how to setup these links into your signature so they work. If not I would be glad to show and example if some people would get some control over their signature files.

It really will make reading, searching, and scanning this forum more efficient for everyone.

This is as much a request for the administrator to control the size of signatures as it is for users to be more considerate and efficient.

Thanks, Graham

You bring up a valid point here Graham. Signatures are often good but with some of the health issues people have they can become quite lengthy. I myself have chosen not to post a signature for various reasons although I do understand why some do as it can make it easier to find others that have had similar health issues and procedures. Maybe others here will find a way to trim down the size of the larger signatures to conserve space on this site.
