Age 20, diagnosed a bit over a month ago with HD in L4-L5. I have had diff symptoms of it since (the tingling, numbness, etc) however most of my pain now is in my knee.
I have some back stiffness and a bit of pain in my back but all of my pain is really in my knee on the side where my back hurts (the left). It is mostly above and below the knee cap and is just a real burning type of dull pain. No other way to describe it but burning.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? I asked my phys. therapist and she believes its related to my back pain. Considering going back to my Orthopedist, but just want to see if anyone else with a HD has had pain like this. Thanks
Yep I had the same type of pain, but it radiated all the way down to my ankle. I was told it was a nerve root impengment, the bulge puts pressure on the nerve root etc...the steroids brought down the swelling, nerve root block reset the nerve...
i had the surgery and it was and still is very painfull lower back left side L5. I have to go to the US to have them finish the sugery..anyways I get the pain from the partial surgery down the left leg (whih was broke 9 months ago and still healing) also what caused the hernias ( i have 3 )
I had an L4/L5 herniation followed by a failed micro-D. I've had both left and right legs symptoms for a while, but in the past couple weeks I've started getting pain around the knees too. Going to see the doc next week, I'll post if I hear any good theories.
