Lower Back Pain
BMP and Low Back Pain

Hey folks,

After bouncing around from Dr to Dr, I've finally received word that the BMP fusion is growing too much and causing my back pain. It's not the scar tissue the radiologist suggested.

From what I've been reading thus far, surgery is the only way to alleviate the pain. As of right now, I'm taking avinza 30 mg a day, and it's not keeping up.

I was told chipping away the excess bone is the solution. What kind of down time am I looking at after surgery. I've started and am currently the only one running my business. I've come a long way, and can not close down for too long.

Thanks.

Not really sure about how

Not really sure about how much downtime you could expect. No doubt you will ask your surgeon that question. I can only relate to my experience of needing my pedicle screws and rods removed 7 months after my L5-S1 fusion surgery. I was back to work within 2 weeks.

Is your business physically demanding on you? Obviously that will impact upon your required downtime.

All the best... Bruce

The disk that was removed

The disk that was removed between my L4 and L5 was replaced with BMP and i hope to God i don't have the "overgrowth" problem. Jawdropping!
