Hi new here

Hi, I am new here, not to lower back pain though. I had an xray just yesterday and it showed the following:
There is narrowing of the L4-L5 and L5-S1 disc spaces as well as hypertrophic changes of the L5-S1 facet joints. There is a shallow rotatory levoscoliosis of the thoracolumbar spine centered at L2.
Does anyone know if this is the cause of my pain?
I also have NF-1.
Meg

Hi Meg and Welcome

I had facet joint inflammation as well and it caused a lot of pain for me. But there is treatment available. I'm not a Doctor and can't really give you any other info. Is that your MRI results also? I hope you get a referral to a Neurosurgeon or Ortho to follow you up. It doesn't necessarily mean surgery though. I hope you get some pain relief soon. Take care. Charry

Hi Cess

Hypertrophy means bone thickening. It can cause nerves being pinched and therefore pain and numbness. I hope your Doctor will give you more insight into what's causing your pain. It's important to see a Spinal Specialist who will help you with further tests and an assessment to help you.
