Weight Loss - 7 Tips For Weight Loss the Natural Way

If you have weight loss as a goal that you've set for yourself, it can be achieved naturally and painlessly. A bit of patience along with alterations in your lifestyle will allow the pounds to drop off and stay off.

3) Avoid restaurant meals whenever possible. Restaurants are notorious for giving their customers huge portions with excessive amounts of high fat. If you do eat at a restaurant, split a meal with a friend or take half of it home for later. If you worry about your self control, ask to box up half before you begin to eat.

4) Drink lots of water. There are times when a person fills hungry when in actuality, they are just dehydrated. A person that is running low on fluid may feel more tired than they actually are, as well. Plenty of water in one's system allows the digestive system to work properly, which is a boon in enhancing weight loss.

5) Participate in informal exercises every day. Park further away from the store than necessary in order to walk a bit further. Lugging those grocery bags back to the car works out the arm and shoulder area along with the legs. Take the stairs rather than the elevator. Clean your own house and save money on a housecleaning service at the same time that you're getting your body into better shape. You'll be amazed at how much better you feel as these small amounts of exercise work into a big change in your body.

6) Take a daily or nightly walk around the neighborhood. Not only will this help to burn calories but it will turn into a ritual that you'll look forward to. If you go by yourself, it is a wonderful time to reflect on your day and to clear your head. If you go with a friend or family member, this peaceful time will work wonders for the relationship. If you walk your dog, your pet will be happier and have less acting out behaviors such as chewing up your shoes.

7) Incorporate stress relieving activities into your lifestyle such as yoga or meditation. A calmer and less stressful existence will tone down emotional eating which tends to exacerbate weight gain. Not only do we tend to munch out on the wrong foods when we are stressed, but our bodies hold on to the fat and calories in a survival maneuver.

I have been blessed during the past year to have lost 60 lbs. Don't ask me how I did it...I don't know...just cut calories...drastically. All of the comments I have read are excellent but not all are practical for me. I cannot walk, cannot exercise at all...so, all of the weight I lost is just skin hanging on me. It is disgusting. Also, since I couldn't exercise my muscles have atrophied and are so ugly. Any suggestions for building up muscles when you are basically chair bound?

hand weights?

dustygal, Wave what about starting out using hand weights?? they come in diffent sizes and would atleast start working your upper body.. they can be used on your legs as well... you can do this sitting or standing.... of course you should speak to a doctor or pt about this... just an idea!! good luck! i weighed over 200 pounds at one time in my life and now weigh 120.. i was a chronic pain patient at this time as well. so you can do it and keep it off.. congratulations on your weight loss!! I have had much success with resistance bands for muscle tone. I am in a similar situation as you and have found these to work well.

BTW- Did you know that a person that weighs 160 lbs would have to walk 42 miles at a brisk pace just to lose 1 lb of fat?

Exercise has many, many health benefits but is not particularly helpful at actually losing the weight.

Really nice post. I find it very useful tips. Here I am also giving some tips:
1. Maintain a proper routine daily like getting up early, exercise, food and sleep.
2. Drink plenty of water 12 glass a day.
3. Do physical exercise like walk, swim, cycling.
4. Take minimum 8 hours sleep.
5. Do yoga and meditation.
6. Avoid oily and outside food.
7. Avoid smoking and drinking.

I agree to natural

I agree to natural weight-loss. It is something I have worked on. I should really say, worked on and off. My biggest problem with keeping my weight down is not being consistent with exercise.

But I am trying harder now, because I found out I have low blood sugar, and one of the ways to keep it in control naturally is to exercise and stay away from refined foods and sugar.

Drink plenty of water so you don't confuse hunger with thirst.
Clear the house of tempting foods.
Stay busy to prevent eating out of boredom.

I think exercise is the natural way which you could
burn your much weight...if you are fat then you should
try to do any exercise like running, jogging, walking
or swimming or what you can do.
After few month you will feel so good.

Weight loss is a fun

Weight loss is a fun according to me... LOL... Actually Dr. allowed me to understand that the foods I was eating even while doing my treatments were going to help my body to restore itself.
Here are few useful tips which worked in my case.
- Drink lots of water
- Eat 5 times a day; 3 meals, 2 snacks
- Go gymming on a regular basis
- Use small plates in dark color to eat
- Be cautious while buying 'fat free' products
- Maintain the eating details in written
- Go easy on dieting, avoid crash dieting regimes
