severe nerve damage

A quick question i have had 3 concurring surgery's since Sept 09I have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis , degenerative disc disease, and nerve damage i had my fist epidural steroid injection on 3-12-10 pain lifted for a day but I think he will have to burn the nerves now (pain doc) my surgery's were done in order, C-4-5 ,l-2-3and T-2-3 , anterior cervical with my own marrow and with hardware, L-2-3 spinal stenosis, deg. disc disease T-2-3 marrow anterior nerve damage. here is the question: You know how your body will jerk once maybe twice before you fall off to sleep? I am jerking once every 5-10 min all night long ....during the day
Once every 30 min how long will it last is it from the damage or which surgery? I am also choking on food my scar from T-2-3 done 1-12- I think i have scar tissue on the inside of my neck from that surgery anyone else have these issues? Anyone Bueller... Ferris.... Buller Wink

I have had body and limb jerking

numbness intermittent leg weakness etc since Jan 2007 and no-one has yet found out the cause.
Don't know if your cause is from your surgery but i'll be very interested to hear what others say about this one.

Welcome

First let me say welcome to spine-health. Have a look around lots of good information here. Have you had any emg studies since surgery and when was your last set of films? What particular limbs are jerking? What kind of meds are you currently taking? Do you still have a plate from the cervical surgery? Did you fuse completely and do you still see the surgeon? One thing I can think of is you might want to see a Digestive specialist and have them do a swallow test as to see what is causing you to choke. It could be related to surgery but then again they need to rule out things as well. The swallow test should show what the cause is from. Anyway just thought I would stop by and welcome you to spine-health. Take care.

My whole body jerks and

My whole body jerks and hard, still seeing surgeon xrays to make sure the swallowing is not from the surgery.I do not have the plate they took it out when my T-2-3 was corrected or so they thought. \I have applied for SDD iI take Lyrica for my fibromyalgia, 80 Mg for Pain. The pain doc put me on fentanyl i hated it it did not work for me at all. all three were fusions L-2-3 was a spinal stenosis drill out and fusion not familiar with emg my last mri was in Dec before T-2-3 was worked on . my nerve damage is from T-2-3 i am sure of it. sorry if my answers are brief but my arms hurt and it is hard to type my whole back spasms when i do. Thanks for the welcome...Smile

I have restless leg syndrome

I have restless leg syndrome and I wonder if your leg jerking might be that on top of your nerve damage. It could also be a side effect from your Lyrica. My hubby is on it and he has some pretty bad side effects from it. Just a few other possibilities.

One level ACDF Feb 2009. Had epidural and dr placed too much medication in too small of a space causing me numbness and pain on the opposite side. This led to a second ACDF Jan 8th 2010, fused two more levels. Now fused C4 thru C7 and still have pain in both shoulders and arms plus numbness from the neck down on the left side of my body.
