I agree

with Tony. A constant headache is cause to see a doctor ASAP. It may or may not have to do with your back, but headache should never be taken lightly.

3 level spinal fusion, L3/4, L4/5, L5/S1, November 2008. Stiff, but I can walk.

Try a chiropractor

I've been where you are today. Severe back pain started when I was about 21. At first I thought it was due to too much stress with work & all that but when the headaches started I panicked. My mom took me to a chiropractor & in a few weeks & some manipulations I was completely free of pain. It was like a miracle. Have you given it a thought?

take vitamin C, b5 and

take vitamin C, b5 and magnesium citrate...

all of these are excellent for brain health....

c and b5 are for stress....

magnesium relaxes your body and makes it easier for circulation to reach the brain....

pain is a sign of not enough oxygen reaching the pain area....

diet is important also....

more fruits and vegetables....

lots of water all day....

this will correct the ph balance in your blood....

and raise the oxygen level.....

deep breathing combined with meditation also....

with your hands massage your neck effectively to raise circulation to the brain....

there is an accupressure point on your hand....for headaches....it works in 5 minutes....

press on it firmly.......for a second...do both hands....

I had almost constant

I had almost constant headaches for about 30 months after being knocked down.No doctor could find the cause & therefore they became quite dismissive. The cause was eventually found to be ultra tight muscles in the lower shoulders. (These muscles connected through the upper back & shoulders to the neck)

The muscles were so knotted it took 8 sessions to relax them one layer at a time. I have to say that I didn't notice they were tense.

So you might actually be suffering from tension headaches ..without realising it. Worth going for a massage session?

back pain

Back pain CAN cause headaches. My physical therapist told me that pain from the back can cause headaches. I am someone who gets debilitating headaches due to back spasms. My worst issue is the spine muscle that runs from my lower back to the back of my head. I battle with this everyday to varying degrees. Also, I am very stubborn and sensitive to medication that I refuse to be on anything other than muscle relaxants at night so I can get a good nights rest.

Do you do PT exercises on a regular basis? Have you tried to do yoga to stretch and strengthen muscles? Have you tried trigger point injections or massage to release your back muscles? Just some ideas if you haven't tried them yet. Smile
