Iv been a member since last year. As you can see by my signature at the bottom I have been through alot.
Not sure if this is the correct spot, so please mods move it if you feel it should be.
I have posted this before under osteoarthritis, and back before. But now that there is a bunch of new members mabye someone has the same things as myself or knows some one who does.
Here it goes.
I can only walk from my kitchen and back. The I start to get severe pain in my ankles that spreads throughout the whole leg to the hips. So its not just the 3 areas. hips/knees/ankles. I only have 20 percent loss of cartilage in my knees. I have burcitis/osteoarthritis in my hips and knees.
I also was just diagnosed in Feb with arortic calcification from my belly down.
I had to use a walker at our local fair with a heavy dose of pain meds.
Today was my first day out to walk after my spinal surgery revision last Wed. I got to our mailbox and it started. I barely made it to my neighbors driveway. I had to stop. Cry, then take another step. I could not put any pressure on the bottom of my feet. My hips and knees did not want to bend. I had to put my feet outward and drag them each step. One step at a time is all I could do. This whole process took 15 minutes. I prayed to God to get back the house. By the time I made it back in I screamed so loud. It took about 20 min for the pain to subside. It was like a knife in my my legs. Not shooting pain, or dull just allover. No calf pain at all. As I know this is a major symptom for some people with PVD etc...
I do have to make a appt with a cardiologist to get a doppler ran on my legs. That will be first. Then go for a MRI of my legs and head. To make sure there are no signs of MS as it runs in my family highly.
This is very scary at the age of 41. I have had to give up everything. Vol EMT, Vol Firefighter. CNA and nursing school. Plus dancing which I love to do when we go out.
I do not even feel like a Mom or wife anymore. even though I am. And I have a wonderful family. So that is a huge PLUS.
Its just trying to figure out the problem. Thank goodness for the best insurance in the world as I can request any test I want. Its just the waiting game.
Plus I do not want these tests to soon except mabye the doppler as I am only 7 days post op. And the bone graft pain WEll unless you have had it , IT HURTS LIKE THE DICKENS. I will say the revision surgery was much easier then the first spinal surgery . Yes Im sore and in pain but nothing like last year.
Sorry for such a long post. I am just so frustrated. This started back in 06 when I fell down my stairs 2xs. But it was just my ankles and it just gets worse as days goes by.
Thanks for listening to my story. I would love any input of anything at all. Family members that you know, yourself, friends etc. That have suffered something like this.
I read that the calcifaction can cause this. Im praying and keeping my fingers crossed its not that...
Of course I am also trying to find a pain managment dr , as mine only treats backs and nothing else. Its almost why did they go to shcool for it.. Big rant on that one. They are few and far between where I live.
When I was on the pain pump for recovery last week. Of course I could walk up and down the halls with no issues. Strange huh??? My ankles acted up but that was it. (Flat feet to, no arches at all)
Everyone take care. Here is to pain free days =D>
